Hi, we are MonoGray Studio, nice to meet you!

We are product design studio for SaaS, B2B and AI teams from the first messy whiteboard to the edge case nobody wanted to talk about. Tangled workflows come out as products people can move through without a tutorial.

Jason Duong, founder of MonoGray

We care about how a product looks, how clearly it works, and how well it holds up as your business grows.

We help teams bring clarity to complex workflows, craft interfaces people can use with confidence, and keep design decisions connected to the build. From a focused product problem to ongoing design support, the work should leave your team with a stronger product and a useful foundation for what comes next.

What we do best

Design and strategy, connected from first decision to shipped interface.

  1. Product Strategy & Audit

Audit the experience, map critical journeys and turn scattered feedback into clear priorities.

  2. End-to-end Product Design

Shape flows, screens and states into a polished experience that works as one.

  3. Design Systems

Build reusable patterns that keep the product coherent and teams moving faster.

  4. Front-end Development

Bring key experiences into the browser with production-minded UI and interactive prototypes.

Who we work with

The right fit makes better work possible.

The strongest partnerships work both ways. We look for teams that value clear thinking, thoughtful craft and close collaboration, so every decision can hold up from the first product question to what ships.

We’re probably not the right fit for

  • Projects where design is treated as a checkbox or a final coat of polish.
  • Teams choosing only for the lowest price or the highest volume of screens.
  • Briefs that cannot be questioned, tested or improved.
  • Engagements that need an order-taker rather than a product design partner.

We’re a strong fit for

  • Teams building meaningful products with real users and real complexity.
  • Founders and product leaders who value quality over speed at any cost.
  • People who welcome honest advice, even when it challenges the original brief.
  • Teams looking for a thinking partner, not simply extra production hands.
  • Companies ready to give good work the context, attention and investment it needs.

What drives us

A clear vision for the product. A practical mission for the work.

Every decision, from the first product question to the interface that ships, stays connected to what users and teams actually need.

  • Vision

Complex products should feel clear enough for people to use with confidence and strong enough for teams to keep building on.

  • Mission

Keep product thinking, interface craft and implementation close together, so good decisions survive the journey from idea to shipped experience.

Principles

Principles that keep every product decision clear, useful and ready to build.

  • 01. Make the next step clear

People should always know where they are, what they can do, and what happens if they do it. Polish that doesn’t serve that understanding is just decoration.

  • 02. Design the whole flow

A screen is a moment, not an experience. The paths, the permissions, the empty states, the way back from a mistake. That’s where products are won or lost.

  • 03. Stay close to the build

Technical constraints belong in the first week, not in QA. Engineers get enough context to carry the intent through, not just the spec.

  • 04. Leave a useful foundation

Every project should make the next one cheaper. Patterns, decisions and guidance your team keeps using long after the engagement ends.

Working together

No mystery about what’s happening this week.

Good collaboration isn’t more meetings. It’s everyone knowing what matters now, what needs a decision, and what comes after it.

  1. STEP 01

Start from the problem, not the ticketEvery piece of work opens with the problem behind the request, the scope, and what you get back at the end. If the request doesn’t hold up to that question, better to find out in week one.

  2. STEP 02

Work in slices you can actually reviewLarge requests get split into pieces you can look at in a week, not a quarter. Priorities can shift between slices without derailing the plan.

  3. STEP 03

Review while it takes shapeFeedback lands while changes still cost nothing. When priorities move, you hear what it means for scope and timing before it becomes a surprise.

  4. STEP 04

Keep delivery connectedWho builds what, and where design support is needed, gets settled before implementation starts, not halfway through it.

Remote-first. Globally connected. Grounded in the work.

Distance was never the hard part. A deliberate working agreement is. Overlap hours, review windows and handoff points get set around your team’s rhythm, so nobody waits overnight for an answer and the current state of the work is always where you expect to find it.

Let's get the next version ready to build.
